April O’Connell, OTR/L, CHT, ACSM is an occupational therapist at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Beverly Hills, CA. She works with a variety of sports teams including the NFL, MLB and NBA and recently spoke at ASHT 2024 on the topic "Exercise as Medicine" and again in 2022 at ASHT and AAHS on the topic Rehabilitation of the Overhead Athlete. She is one of the main contributors to the fellowship program for hand and upper extremity rehabilitation as well as the co-director for Cedars Sinai Hand Symposium. April got her start as the Clinical Specialist in the Hand and Upper Extremity Therapy Department at NYU Langone Health. She has lectured to orthopedic surgeons and therapists nationally and internationally in current concepts of orthopedic rehabilitation of the upper extremity. Some of her most recent lectures include being a guest speaker for Dr. Radio on Sirius Satellite on topics for rehabilitation of the hand and upper extremity as well as injuries to the overhead athlete. In addition, she has presented on Flexor Tendon Repair Advancement at AAOS in 2015 and was later asked to speak at ASSH national conference in 2016 and ASHT in 2017. She recently presented her latest research at ASHT National Conference on flexor tendon rehabilitation in 2019. April is a founding member of the NYU Langone Golf and Pitching Labs and was the head hand therapist for the first successful bilateral hand and face allotransplantation. Dr. Hagit Berdishevsky, PT, DPT, specializes in scoliosis and spine rehabilitation for non-operative, pre-operative and post-operative patients of all ages. She is the owner of the Scoliosis and Spine Physical Therapy Clinic in New York City (also known as SchrothNYC) and the Good Posture Center in Israel. Dr. Berdishevsky teaches for Scoliosis and Spine Online Learning (SSOL), which she co-founded in 2018. Dr. Berdishevsky graduated in 1998 from the Wingate Institute’s Physical Education and Sports Science Program in Israel with a specialty in Postural Defects Cultivation. She received her Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from Hunter College, part of the City University of New York, in 2005, and her Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree (with a specialty in sports rehabilitation) from St. Augustine University (Florida) in 2013. Dr. Berdishevsky received her certification as a Schroth Physical Therapist from the Asklepios Katherina-Schroth Clinic in Germany in 2009, the same year she was certified by the McKenzie Institute in Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment (MDT). His postgraduate studies followed in 2020 at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in the Department of Medicine on "Rehabilitation and pain management associated with spinal cord injuries", from which he graduated with an excellent grade in 2023. Along with his studies, he participated in various seminars and also participated as a speaker in the 77th Congress of the Hellenic Society of Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology in 2021 on "Hip Fractures and SARS-COV 2: Research Data and Treatment Strategies" and in the 4th International Congress of Arthroplasty, Orthopedics and Orthopedic Surgery held in Bangkok, Thailand in 2024 on "Gait Rehabilitation Techniques in Incomplete Cervical Spinal Cord Injuries". Merita Qorolli is an Assistant Professor in the Physiotherapy Branch, at Faculty of Medicine University of Prishtina, Republic of Kosovo, where she actively contributes to advancing the academic and professional standards of physiotherapy education. She completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Physiotherapy at the University of Prishtina, furthering her academic studies by obtaining her Ph.D.at the University of Zagreb, Croatia.
