Clinical Outcome Review of the Stim Pod NMS 460 for the Treatment of Urinary Stress Incontinence

Background:
Urinary stress incontinence (USI) affects approximately one in three women and can significantly impact quality of life. Conservative physiotherapy interventions are often first-line treatments; however, outcomes may vary, and many patients seek noninvasive options that produce meaningful results efficiently.
Purpose:
The purpose of this outcome review is to evaluate patient-reported clinical outcomes following 1–2 treatment sessions utilizing the Stim Pod NMS 460, a neuromodulation device, in the management of urinary stress incontinence.
Methods:
A retrospective review of patient outcomes was conducted following 1–2 treatment sessions using the Stim Pod NMS 460 as part of a physiotherapy intervention. Outcomes were assessed based on patient-reported symptom reduction and functional improvements related to urinary stress incontinence.
Results:
Patients demonstrated clinically meaningful reductions in symptoms of urinary stress incontinence, with many reporting noticeable improvement following the initial treatment session. These outcomes suggest rapid symptomatic improvement using a noninvasive neuromodulation approach.
Conclusion:
The Stim Pod NMS 460 appears to be a promising conservative intervention for the management of urinary stress incontinence, with favorable patient-reported outcomes observed after one to two sessions. Further prospective research, including controlled studies and larger outcome analyses, is warranted to evaluate long-term effectiveness and optimal treatment protocols.

Treating the Culprit versus the Symptoms of Thoracic Outlet, TMJ, and Sciatica Related Pain with Manual Therapy

Dr Tami J. Recesso PT, DPT will conduct a workshop presentation and demonstration that will include an
efficient interview assessment by obtaining a brief history that will point the provider in the direction of
deducing the culprit of nerve related pain and dysfunction. The techniques she utilizes and will share are simple
and very effective in reducing scar tissue adhesions, relaxing muscle spasm, and improving postural alignment to
alleviate nerve related pain in the upper extremity and lower extremity. She will also demonstrate and share her
top three manual therapy techniques offering significant visual pre-test and posttest improvements in both
Upper extremity Active Range of Motion, pelvic alignment, and a subjective reduction in pain and dysfunction
in as little as 90 seconds per intervention. Physiotherapists have many choices around treatment interventions
when treating patients with thoracic outlet syndrome, TMJ, and Sciatica. Dr Tami’s methods will help simplify a
go to approach that is effective and efficient in improving patient outcomes on the first visit and/or within the
first 2-4 sessions. With the goal of treating the culprit versus the symptoms of pain and avoiding unnecessary
pain injections, opioid use, diagnostics, or surgeries.
